Lighting Bolt

Thursday 7 August 2014

Yesterday I took a trip up the range with my brother and his girlfriend. We wandered down the street browsing the quaint little shops along the main road of Monteville whilst admiring the country view which might I add is absolutely stunning! We of course couldn't leave without purchasing some sneaky chocolate (my weakness!) Before sitting down for a late lunch at Wild Rocket (highly recommend) where we listened to a local county singer play and filled our tummies. I paired my Neon Hart lightening bolt tee with this feminine midi skirt to create a relaxed look. I also grabbed my OSKAR faux shearling jacket before heading off on our adventure as I know it can get pretty chilly up in the moutains.

Top 3 Picks: Luxury Lipsticks

Tuesday 29 July 2014

I am a self confessed lipstick addicted, hoarder and all round lover. I have decided to begin a mini series of my top 3 picks for different categories of makeup and skin care. I am, maybe to over excited for this to kick off, I feel as though this is sort of like shopping my own stash. Of course since lip products are my favourite makeup products, it seemed only fitting to launch this series with my top 3 luxury lipsticks. Is it a coincidence that today just so happens to be national lipstick day?

Mini Target Haul

Tuesday 22 July 2014

Target was having 30% off all cosmetics last week so of course I was completely sucked in and bring to you a mini makeup haul (how do they expect a beauty addict like me to resist?)

Things I've Been Loving in June

Thursday 3 July 2014

I'm sad to be saying goodbye to the month of June, being filled with life-long memories, laughter, smiles, ice-cream and one of my biggest dreams coming true meeting Mr Eiffel. Apart from all the exciting travelling one of the best thing's in June was seeing my brother for the first time in a long two years and finally getting a big bear hug! Since it was such a great month for me I thought I had better share with you my June favourites.

Let me just start of by telling you that I love tea (green tea to be specific) and I hate to go a day with out it! We stumbled across a tea shop whilst in Paris called Kusmi Tea (tea heaven) where we were given a sample of their BB Detox Tea. A "delicious blend of maté, green tea and rooibos, flavoured with a subtle hint of grapefruit" this tea not only tastes divine it gives off a delicious calming grapefruit scent, much needed on a 'go go go' holiday. Speaking of such a busy, fast paced holiday with late nights and to many early mornings my Clinique All About Eyes became my saviour for fighting off puffy dark under eyes. This product is a serious miracle worker 'kisses bottle' turning me from an exhausted, sleep-deprived girl to a fresh, bright eyed traveller ready for what the day has in store. Since there wasn't a lot of time to get ready in the mornings, I didn't always want to wear a full face of make-up. Benefit's Gimme Brow was my go to for a quick put together brow look yet still leaving behind natural looking brows. It has also become a staple in my more glamorous makeup looks to set and thicken my brows.

The month of June was nothing short of shopping, shopping and more shopping and I'm defiantly not complaining. My latest purchase is my Sass and Bide Sunglasses that I never want to take off (I would wear them indoors if it was acceptable.) I'd been searching for a pair of sleek black sunglasses with a touch of quirkiness which is exactly what these sunnies possess. My favourite beauty purchase this month is without a doubt Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua foundation. I had very high expectations as it is such a highly spoken of product with quite a heavy price tag but I can confirm that this is worth every last cent. I have been neglecting my old favourites for this beauty as it provides such a light weight formula producing natural, fresh and flawless looking skin.

Although ending my travels in Europe was a sad affair I can't deny that I was looking forward to coming home meaning I got to see my man and catch up with my darling girlfriends. I love to take a good photo or two or three or fifty but feel as though they go to waste sometimes sitting on my phone or camera. My Fujifilm Instax Mini however is the solution to all my problems with these captured moments reminding me of just how blessed I am to have such inspiring, gorgeous and colourful people surrounding me everyday. I recently went to the movies with a group of friends to see 22 Jump Street and can we just take a moment to talk about how god damn handsome Channing Tatum is... but apart from the eye candy this is one of the funniest movies I have seen in a while and I mean laugh out loud hilarious. If you haven't seen this already get to your local cinema and buy yourself a ticket it is a guaranteed laugh.

European Makeup Haul

Tuesday 1 July 2014

I have just returned around a week ago from an exceptionally amazing four week holiday in Europe with my Family. I had the pleasure of meeting a slim amount of remarkable cities that I have dreamt of visiting since I can remember. The whole experience was incredible with beauty lying around every corner. I had the chance to visit Paris, London, Italy and Dubai and was greeted by magical architecture, breathtaking monuments, unimaginable views and of course mouth watering restaurant's, cafe's, bakery's you name it every where you look!  But lets not forget about the shopping and boy did I do my fair share of that. Lets just say my parents now know every Sephora, Space NK, MAC, Selfridges or any store for that matter that sells makeup and they would find me there staring with hearts in my eyes.

After that very long winded intro let me share with you what I picked up on my travels. Firstly I couldn't resist this gorgeous floral print Ted Baker Makeup Bag which I am absolutely in love with (a girl can never have to many makeup bags right?) If you haven't already noticed from the picture above that I'm a lip product addict I'm letting you know now. It is probably my favourite makeup product hence the reason I thought I needed seven new lip products. I picked up my first ever MAC Lipsticks in Crème Cup and Coral Bliss which are two gorgeous nude shades every girl should have in there collection. Who can resist YSL's famous gold packaging (not me anyway) and when the YSL Rouge Per Couture put together a pack with the shades 1 Le Rouge, 13 Le Orange and 27 Fuchsia Innocent there was no backing out they had to be mine. I found the prettiest purple shade from Shiseido Perfect Rouge in the colour RS320 and a Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Luxembourg a pinky red crayon that I am dying to test out! I was in desperate need of a new brow regime and have heard so many good things about the Hourglass Arch Brow Sculpting Pencil and Benefit Gimme Brow so of course these were at the top of my shopping list. I was in search of two things while I was holidaying/shopping an eyeliner for the tight line that didn't smudge onto the bottom lash line and a natural looking mascara for those 'no makeup, makeup days' and was pointed in the direction (from a cheery makeup salesman) of the Nars Long Wear Eyeliner and Benefit's They're Real Mascara. On the powder front I was obliged to pick up the renowned Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette, Nars Bronzing Powder in Laguna and Sleek Blush in Californ.i.a to try them for myself and see if they live up to there well established names. While I was travelling I ran out of my L'Oreal Lumi Magique concealer which I love but took this as a sign to pick up MAC Pro Longwear Concealer as I have been wanting to try this for months. And lastly I purchased a new product launched from the Body shop All-In-One BB Cream and an old trusted product Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation. As much as I love some of the more affordable foundations out there sometimes it's nice to treat yourself and in hope that your helping out your skin that little bit more.

Minty Fresh

Saturday 17 May 2014

Even though we are in autumn and winter is fast approaching, I just can't stop dressing my closet with beautiful pastels. I scrolled across this dress on Instagram a couple of weeks back and my eyes were won over by the striking colour I was sold at first sight. I immediately jumped onto Stelly's website, clicked away and within a few minutes this stunning mint piece was mine. Since it has been on the colder side the 3/4 sleeves were perfect while still being able to rock bare legs which I'm not quite ready to give up. For a little extra warmth I have added this white peplum coat that I purchased last year from Mishkah fashion and my beige studded boots for a casual and comfortable look.

Autumn Blues

Saturday 3 May 2014

This weekend felt like the first real start to our Autumn here in Queensland a dramatic change from the warm weather we have been enjoying. I was not complaining however as this cold spell mean't I could show off my new baby blue sweater I had just purchased from Forever New. I am completely and utterly in awe over the pastel trend lately and have been gravitating towards anything pastel coloured. This sweater is one of the most comfortable and soft knits I've ever owned with characteristics of a turtle neck providing an elegance and a quirky open back detail to stand out from the rest. I was going for comfort by pairing the sweater with my patch work Ziggy Jeans and my Sportsgirl Boots as I was heading to lunch with some friends. To finish off the outfit I added my baby pink quilted bag to keep a feminine feel to the look. How have you been rugging up this weekend?

Printed Playsuits

Saturday 26 April 2014

I absolutely adore playsuits not just for there versatility of being able to be dressed up for a night out or dressed down for a more casual look but because they are just super cute! The minute I laid eyes on this playsuit I was absolutely mesmerised and knew it had to come home with me. The colours in this one piece work perfectly together to create a stunning outfit that catches your eye and draws your focus to this mysterious graphic print. It is a statement on its own so I kept things simple with beige heels and clutch that dress up the outfit and give an elegant feel to the look without detracting from the main event. I also added a gold metal plated belt to brake up the colour block print and give a little structure to the playsuit.
